Stefan Alexander Schmid was born and grew up in Germany, though with long, regular stints in the States. His parents were very liberal compared the conservative Bavaria in which they lived.
He did not like school as an institution, but he liked the learning and camaraderie which school ideally provides. After school, he completed an apprenticeship in a bank.
Following that, he went to a high school for two years, and from there to university. He studied Business Administration and after graduation he moved into consulting.
In 2008, he felt he wanted a challenge and to learn a new language, and his company helped in sending him to Moscow. He works in Financial Services where he has instituted some novel solutions implemented and assisted by talented Russian staff.
