Op-ed articles

Between August 2015 and November 2016 Sam Gerrans wrote a regular and popular op-ed column for Russia Today.

When the editorial position at RT became such that discussion of the events of 9/11 should be restricted to the so-called “official version” and that pharmaceutical companies were not to be criticised, he withdrew his services.

Between September 2010 and November 2013 (concurrent with other commitments) he wrote, produced, and presented two radio shows each week for Voice of Russia. These shows were aired both by Voice of Russia (Russia) and Voice of Russia (UK). Voice of Russia has since been rebranded Sputnik Radio.

Home from Home was an interview with a different Moscow expat each week about their reasons for relocating to Russia and their experiences in the country. He made over 100 shows all of which are available on this site.

Inside Out was a weekly op-ed radio journal describing the underbelly of life in Russia from the point of view of someone deeply embedded in the life and culture. He made a total of 59 shows, a selection of which is available on this site.

Film reviews

Between 2004 and 2008 Sam Gerrans wrote cinema reviews off and on as a side gig. These focused on the English-language film scene in Moscow at the time.

He wrote first for Expat.ru and then for The Moscow News.
